Together, they live in a 200 year old barn conversion where they like nothing better than when their neighbour Neil walks their beautiful Golden Retriever - Libby.

He is a life member of The Custer Battlefield Historical and Museum Association, a member of The Little Big Horn Association, and a founder member of the Custer Association of Great Britain. John is also an expert on Operation Anthropoid (1942), which he has spoken on television about, written articles about, and often lectures on this subject.

In June 2006, John received a medal from the Czech Army Veterans for his research into Operation Anthropoid, and a further medal from the Slovak Army Veterans the following year.

In 2009, John's book on the subject was published and is now for sale. The book is called "The Mirror Caught The Sun". (click on Book Available button on left hand side)
